Hi again Kay

In the Burial Register transcription, a number will appear at the end of the transcription: e.g.

1893   December   26   Simmonds   Kate   f      59   St Michaels   487
1891   November   11   Simmonds   Obadiah   m      84   OTP   525

- this is because there is a monument and we have transcribed and photographed that monument and cross referenced it with the burials.

Not knowing what Simmons you are researching, I do not know if there are any surviving monuments to your family

But I guess you will soon tell me if there is ;D

Hi Kay

Glad to have been of help to you

To make sure I send you the correct picture and transcription, when you have time, can you please jot down their names and date of death

Have a nice day with your riding group

I will be away from my computer all day tomorrow at the University of Sussex - its the last day school of the 'Interpretation and Recording of a Churchyard" course', part of the Archaeology Certificate via the CCE - and I am the tutor, so hope the rain keeps off as we are out and about in the Churchyards of Lewes in the morning and some private tutorials on the final submission in the afternoon

Look forward to your reply

Chris,

I have been gleaning information off of other posts, but I wonder if I could bother you to perform a search for me specifically.

I am very interested in any information, especially people, that is linked with the Poor House that has been in St John Sub Castro since 1634. I have set myself the aim of putting together a timeline for this building, which I am now beginning to regret!

I would appreciate anything you have, in any format - I'm happy to do the trawling! Also, there is absolutely no rush, just as and when, if you have a spare moment.

Thank you in advance for you help.

Regards,

Richard Streeter

Hi there George

First of all, Welcome to Rootschat and especially the Sussex Boards (we think its one of the best boards on here)

Unfortunately your request for information from St John Sub Castro is a bit confusing - the way I read it is that you are asking for the 'PAGE' Burials and Baptisms - is that correct ?

Also, you do not state any date range, are we looking at the 19th /20th centuries or what.

If you can give me some idea as to your earliest forenames and dates, then I will be only too happy to post the information for you

Look forward to hearing from you

Hi Chris.
Many thanks for reply,as regard the Page's I think it will be better if you can if possible give me back as far as you go back to present day then perhaps I can work out when they left Arlington/Hellingly and went to Lewes.I am still stuck on a burial for a Thomas Page of South Malling who was in 1901 Census I found a couple of possibles but am not sure which is which. Also I note on one of your replies about PRO DEO-PROREGE PRO PATRIA 1939-1945 a J.Pasquale on there as this is my wife's maiden name and thought that it was confined to the Essex area.
As you say Chris it is a very good site.Bye the way did you see the article on Chailey 1914 - 1918.it was very good I found all the info on my aunt's husbands family and also a piece on there wedding.Anyway enough for now and look forward to hearing from you.
yours Sincerely
George Page.
