Mine were finally updated yesterday.......i've now got another 6 pages of so called "Hot Matches" to scroll through, randomly clicked on 4 people and could see straight away they were not "Matches"....

Oh Well, when i've the time i shall look at them all, i was lucky enough with the last bunch of 6 pages, found a couple of contacts that i did'nt have before.

I finally got my new batch as well.  Sept 5 - Oct 24 was a long fortnight but at least I have got a couple of interesting matches amongst the 5 pages.  Mainly 'B' surnames though and as I have over 750 people in my GR tree I dread to think how long before I get my 'R' matches  ;D

Debbie  ;)

Hi there,

You might never get your 'R' matches Debbie, as from looking at the site today, they say they only report the first 100 matches.  Not so handy if you have popular names near the start of the alphabet :-(

Cheers,
Clare

BETT - Kinross-shire, Fife and Glasgow
CHAMBERS, BRUFF, WESTMACOTT - Glasgow

I'm even more inclined to think the hot matches feature is a waste of time.  I happen to have Brown, Clark and Clarke in my tree, so it hasn't got beyond useless non-matches with those.  If it ever gets to Smith it will be fun.
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

I waded through a whole load of contacts the other day, and after the fifth with a birthplace of US, I thought I am sure I put birthplaces in mine, so checked and yet there was a birthplace of Shoreditch, London, England.

Well that really works then doesn't it??

hi there,

They state that they will only match the name and the date of birth.  But there could be hundreds of people with the same name born in the same year.  I too am fed up getting matched with William Andersons from all over the country rather than just those in Lanarkshire (and there are quite a few of them too!).
