Thanks Webby and Suey

I think I replied with just enough info to determine if we are talking about the right people.

I'm still sat with fingers crossed (makes typing difficult) ;D

just an update, after a few quick messages with my GR contact it would appear that my uncle married her grandmothers sister.  I'm not quite sure what our actual relationship is, but who cares, it's just nice to make contact.

Just to add my 2 cents worth.  I have someone on GR who is researching my father in law and they won't answer me.  It certainly has me intrigued, but wish they would answer.  Have found several relies there.

Today I waded through (and almost totally eliminated) over 200 so-called hot matches.  But a couple look quite promising, I have to say...

Sorry if this has already been said, but it makes me so cross, I contacted someone who had a GR hot match the same name as one of my gr gr grandmothers.

The reply came back, this is not a match with you, my one is New York, US, not Burwash, Sussex.

Well why the b******* does it not say where she is from on your tree then!!!!!!!!

Why are people so lazy, if they know where these people are born, why can't they add these details!!!  It's not that difficult!

Rant over  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I got a hot match with the last update - 32 matching names. So  I sent him a mail. Nothing.

OK, I thought, perhaps he's let his membership lapse. His problem.

I got the next batch of hot matches yesterday. I now have 34 matches with this one chap, so I know that he has updated his tree within the last month.

From another contact, I have a copy of his tree - so I have his details. The very branch he is missing is mine.

But I've gone passed the stage of caring. It's his loss, not mine. And if you happen to read this, you probably know who I'm referring to.

A brother and his son-and someone else I haven't a clue about. Unlikely to be a double with a first name Monique and an unusual maiden name

that's ridiculous, how can people do that, when ever I up date my tree with other peoples information I always ask them first. And I never put in full details for anyone born after 1920, my parents and grand parents are all recorded as living with just a year of birth and a really general area.
No wonder why your annoyed.
