I understand that this may be too vague as I only have the details from the Boyds Marriage Index

Looking for the details on the marriage of John Bell and Sarah Cornell 1797 Saffron Walden.

I have no idea how many churches there were/are in Saffron Walden in that time period so if this is not enough information, then I do understand

Had a look at marriage register fiche for St Mary the Virgin at Saffron Walden and found the marriage you wanted.

John Bell married Sarah Cornell 29 Oct 1797 John signed his name and Sarah made her mark X

Banns were read on 24 Sept,1 Oct, and 8 Oct.

Still not sure where this leaves me....guess I was kinda hoping there might be an occupation for John mentioned or 'of the parish of.....' or something.  Anything to give me a nudge in the right direction.

If I could find Sarah's death certificate I'd be more clued-up as it should say she was the 'widow of.....' but there's so many to choose from that I don't know where to start
