Hi I am new here and I think this is a great site. I myself are looking for family members in loughborough and barrow upon soar. Some names i have are thomas selby born in leicester,loughborough around 1861 and married a charlotte sarah selby(née Hull. She was born the 14th of august 1859 in watford hertfordshire. her mother was Charlotte Sarah How and her father was John Hull. They had many children John benjamin selby born 21 september 1884,nottingham,Thomas selby leicestershire,charlotte Maria selby ,leics,edith,elsie,hannah,arthurall born in leics.If anyone knows any of these names or maybe the families please let me know and thanks.

Is there anyway in finding out when someone died without having to send for a death certificate for people who died after 1901?

RICHARD SELBY c 30 jan, 1791 rempstone
WIFE- ANN    b  abt 1794 rearsby leics.

In 1861 census they were still alive, he was 70 and she was 67.
Any help would be appreciated. RICHARDS parents were BENJAMIN SELBY and SARAH BRIN.

Hi Charby, sorry for butting in again. I think you need to start a new topic for this one (unless someone picks it up) and ask for someone to look at Frisby on the Wreak in 1841 for you (it's piece 590 of the leics 1841).

There are a few baptisms on the IGI for Selbys in Frisby, so it looks like Richard may have married twice

Winifred Selby 25/11/1821 - Richard and Sarah
Jane Selby 21/09/1828 - Richard and Sarah
Harriott Selby 27/03/1831 - Richard and Sarah
George Selby 17/12/1834 -  Richard and Ann

Thank you heather for that, no problem you may butt in all you want, anyways it helps us both as we seem to have the same ancestors on the selby side. I will now start a new topic and see what happens, thank you again heather.

Well I just wanted to add in that I have now THOMAS SELBY and CHARLOTTE SARAH HULL'S  marriage certificate and they married the 16TH NOV, 1881 at the holy trinity church in lough,leics, THOMAS was 21 and was a brick maker living at  85 russell st, and CHARLOTTE was living at 46 russell st.
They  were married by banns and the witnesses were WILLIAM HULL and ELIZA PARKER.
