Thanks again, Del.

Went to make a cuppa, came back to answer your first post & when I posted it, I foud that you had been very busy.

I do have most of the marriages I want, but see that there are a couple there that are new to me.   Thanks

Blessings

Hi
William Wallace is my great great grandfather. His father Arthur and his mother Mary came to NZ on the Palymra and landed in Wellington in 1848.
The family shifted to Wanganui (Arthur is buried in Heads Rd Cem.), William fought in the Land Wars- his younger brother Richard also fought and was killed at the battle for Te Ngutu in Taranaki.
William settled in Meremere/Ohangai and farmed.  Have a look at "paperspast" at the Hawera Star.
I hope some of this help, you can always get back to me if need be.  :)

Regards,

Hi Fern,

Charles is my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather. I would love to compare notes on what you have about him?
He was a warden of the hundred of onehunga, which I am going to try and track down a bit further. I also have his miltary postings (4th regiment from 1817 onwards), trying to rack down his activities 1813 -1817, around Waterloo period.
I have his section number too, from a picture in the fencible cottage in Onehunga, will work out where that is and I'll pop down and have a look, as I live quite close by...

Kind regards

Gary
