burial index sheffield

does anyone have the burial indexes for sheffield, looking for the death of archibald charles briggs hattersley, born 1901, married eveline allen 1923 in ecclesall bierlow, i have checked from 1974 to 2003 & he didn't die between these years so it must have been before 1974, any info greatley recieved.

Hi Moira.

The burial indexes are mainly early 20th century. There is only 1 cemetery indexed to 1976 and that is Tinsley Park and he's not listed in that.

Moira. Archibald Charles Hattersley is my grandfather. He died in Sheffield in 1973 just as I went to university. He was born in Hamilton in 1901 to Matthew Henry Briggs Hattersley and Jane Elizabeth Harris. You are right that he was married to Evelyn Allen. I am the daughter of the eldest son Matthew. He still has two daughters living in Sheffield, my aunts. I need to know why you are researching him. I have also been doing some family research much further back and would be happy to share with you if you are a  relative.

hi kateliz, i was asking for peter hattersley from hatfield doncaster, he works with me & mentioned that his sister was having problems finding his death ect so i offered to put a request on rootschat for him & did a bit of research on 1837 as well & came up with the reference numbers for him to pass on, he was his grandfather as well. I will pass the info to peter & let him know you have been in touch.

A Archibald Charles Hattersley died at Royal Infirmary, Sheffield and was buried 12 Oct 1973 at Wisewood Cem, Sheffield. Sect H Grave 5460 gp, with Eveline Hattersley poss died at 38 Findon St, Sheffield who was buried on 5 April 1982
