American Loyalist Refugees?  does anyone know where
I might look for info about people arrriving at maybe
Bristol, Swansea, Whitehave Liverpool or Dublin, post
1776, until about 1785.

That could be difficult as they would be, for the most part, British citizens. Even if they lived until the 1841 census it would only say that they were not born in England and even that would only apply to people who by then might be 85 years old - quite rare back then.
There would be some comment in contemporary news sheets but for those you would need physical access.
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.

      Using Google have a look at-

        Thats a mouth full, but it is full of information that may put you on the right track?
         There is another bibiography dealing with Loyalist's that returned to England 1775-1785 but I cannot pinpoint the writer,will have a look around for you.
