1841/51 census - CHENERY
« on: Tuesday 18 October 05 13:39 BST (UK) »
Hi

I'm looking for William CHENERY/CHINERY born Stowmarket 1826. From 1861 onwards he always lives at Bury Street, Stowmarket. His parents were Martin & Elizabeth, so if they show up anywhere, I'd be glad of that info as well.

Here's hoping.

Hi Kris

What are your doing in Suffolk? The Chenery/Chinery connection is through my mother's side, going back from the Horwood line. Daughter Susan (c1854) married inot the Horwood line. This family are my 3rd great grandparents on that side.
 Thanks for the info
Speak soon.

Hi Pauline,

A William Chinery of Bury Street, Stowmarket is the signed informant on my g.g.g. grandfather's death certificate dated 19th February 1858. I'm assuming he was a neighbour in Bury Street where my ggg grandfather Robert Peck had a whip making business. So that definitely places William in Bury Street in 1858 wouldn't you say.

Hi David

It's a small world  :)
Robert Peck who died in 1858 is actually in my tree. He married Mary Ann Holden in Stowmarket district in 1843. She is a 3rd g grand aunt to me. She is also the sister to my 3rd g grandmother Sarah who married William Chenery. If you are interested my tree is at www.mumsiep.tribalpages.com.
Thanks for your input as well  :)

Pauline, thanks for your family tree link - very interesting, you've got further back on the Peck line than me!  8)

The Bury Street Peck, Holden and Chinery families seem to be quite close. Robert Peck married Mary Ann Holden (what a woman she was), his sister Adelaide Ann Peck married Mary Ann's brother Robert Holden, William Chinery married Mary Ann's sister Sarah, and William was the Informant on Robert's death certificate.

Thanks again,

David
