We have a Carvill/Carvel in our tree. Mary - she married George Bardy in about 1810 in Skipwith, she is listed as resident in Aughton, and their first 2 children were born in East Cottingwith.

We can just about connect her with other Carvill/Carvels on the IGI

Is she on your tree too?

Windy
Durcan/Durkin - Sligo to York, Sweeney (nee)Langhan Mayo to York. Mulhearn (spelling?)(nee Brogan) ?Ireland to York.
Bardy - weavers, North Yorkshire to York.
+ Ingleson, Carvel/Carvil

Hi Stephen

This is the MI for John GARBUTT in Loftus East

Erected in memory of Mary Jane the affectionate and dearly beloved wife of John GARBUTT who died 29th Jul 1861 aged 30 years. Also Mary Jane? their daughter who died 12 ... 1860 aged 15 years and 10 months. Also Elizabeth their daughter who died Dec 2nd 1864 aged 4 years and 3 months. Also to the memory of the above John GARBUTT of Kilton Hill who died Mar 28th 1897 aged 73 years

Hope this helps

Cheers

Thanks a lot Gina

Not my John Garbutt (he married Mary Ann who was alive in 1881) but good to rule this one out. Thanks again for looking.
