Family name McQueenie

Hi, I am looking for information re BRYNE McQUEENIE.  All I know of him is he married CATHERINE McFADZEN and that they had at least 1 child named Martin McQueenie.  I know Martin was born in 1825, but I don't know where, Martin married Catherine Oates and died 1880 aged 55 in Penicuik.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rose, My search of this side of my husbands family came to a halt with Bryne McQueenie and Catherine McFadzen, I know nothing about her except she was Irish.

Hi Ann,
I am in Adelaide and I am researching a McFadzen aka McFadzean family who were here in Adelaide emigrated in 1857.  I know Robert McFadzen's parents were John McFadzen and Helen Kelly.  I have had the experience that often on the Scottish censuses McFadzens are listed as Irish but when I have tracked them back they were actually born Scotland, eg. John McFadzen in Stoneykirk was listed as born Ireland but I found him in Scotland son of Andrew McFadzen and Mary McWilliam.  I would not give up Catherine McFadzen as being born Ireland. Have you found her death yet?

Hi Robeena, thanks for your email.  I have not made any more headway re Catherine McFadzen and Bryne McQueenie except for 2 more children, Stephen and Mary. They are a most frustrating family to research

Hi Anne,
Have you found a death certificate for Bryne in Scotland, or Catherine nee McFadzen?  Also have you some of the birth certs. for Martin & Catherine Oates' children.  Some of the Scottish birth certificate have a place of birth for the parents.  You should check.  Just some thoughts.  I always try to search on Ancestry eg. Bry* McQueen* because this give you more variations, Ancestry allows you to search with three letters and then an asterix. Hope this helps.
