Hi Dawn

That is the only info the Manchester Police archives have on him, as for a phone exchange I have no idea on that one, but will keep a look out for you.

Hi dawn

WoW it does look spooky, just enlarged that area. Now it looks like a full head of some martian type person.   :o a long forehead, eyes, cheeks, stumpy nose, mouth, chin  :o

But I think we can safely say it is just a natural oddity on the headstone captured at that moment in time  ;D

Best wishes for a merry christmas to you and your family.

Regards
Ken

Hi Dawn,

Just been looking at info on Bernard Shorrock as I thought I'd have a go at starting our family tree. I see that you are already well into it now.  Bernard is my great grandfather, George is my Grandfather and Donald my father.  Do you have a copy of a newspaper cutting of Bernard from the Evening Chronicle with regards to his retirement as I have a copy and could send it to you.  Could you just keep me up-to-date with a quick overview on how you are related etc.

Thanks
Debbie

hi debbie
dawn here bernard was also my great grandfather muriel was my grandmother and patricia is my mum, i am sure donald phoned me one day and said he would get in touch again.muriel died giving birth to a second child when mum was 3 and was not told anything about any family that existed, i have found out quite a bit i am sure it was donald who sent me a copy of the retirement of bernard. Because muriel died so young we can` seem to find anything about her i know she was a telphonist before she married grandad in 1933 but thats it.myself and my husband have taken over a pub in meliden near rhyl so have been really busy for a while i will get back toyou in a bit i just have to go down and lock up
take care
dawn

Hi Debbie

It is great when a connection can be made  ;D

I know Dawn has been looking for Bernards burial site for ages, Have you any idea of its location, if it is in the manchester area I would be willing to find and photograph it for both of you.

Regards
Ken
