Dear Neatwheat.

I think I can add another side to your family. My grandmother was the daughter of Charles the youngest son of Elias.

We stayed in North Wales and I visited Hendre a great deal when I was young. My mother was born in Hendre and Margaret the second wife of Elias lived with Charles her son until she was over 77 years of age.

Dear Neatwheat thank you for your response any information that you have on the Cartwrights would be most welcome.

Did Elias the elder have two sons called Richard one born ion 1849 and one in 1866.

The 1851 census shows a son Richard aged 2 in 1861 he is 12.

My theory is that Margaret the second wife already had children when she married Elias.
