Hi Ruth

I have just joined Rootschat and seen your message. On the 8th Oct I returned to SA from a holiday in the UK, where I was able at last to find my ancester William CROZIER. He was born in Shields, County Durham according to the 1862 Census (found at the Heritage Centre, Greenwich). His wife was Mary Ann NAPPER, but the children's second name in the generations that followed had it as NAPIER. I also found the baptism for William Robert, Gibson Napper Holmes and Marion (have her birth cert). Have Philip's info already. Matilda is still the illusive one. I searched through many registers from St. Botolph without Aldgate where William and Mary Ann married through to Islington where William, Gibson and Marion were born, but couldn't find her.

On the IGI is a birth date of 22 March 1786 for William, but it's not a church record. I am descended through his son Gibson Napier Holmes Crozier. Although his baptism very definitely says Napper, he seems in all the time he was here in SA to have used Napier and all the generations that followed have this name too, including my mother's brother!

Are you a Crozier descendant?
Tessa

Hi Ruth,

Wondering if you'd found your family now?  They are on the 1861 if you don't have it already.

Regards
Jonathan

Hello,

As part of routine housekeeping, I notice that you have not responded to the re-query to ask if you are still looking for the information requested in your original post.  I am assuming therefore that you are no longer looking for this information and will move this topic into the Completed Requests section.

If this is not the case, please PM me and I will move it back into the Lookup Requests and hopefully someone will attempt to answer it.

Regards
Jonathan
