marriage in Skerries
« on: Sunday 09 October 05 12:29 BST (UK) »
My great great  grandparents were allegedly from Skerries. Nicholas and Catharine Galston(maiden name unknown) they ended up in wigan UK in the 1870s with several children.Nicholas I am told was a tailor and Catherine a seamstress.Looked for family history groups in Skerries,Dublin but nothing helpful. I need a marriage certificate for them or a birth registration for nicholas at least. A HUGE brick wall for me.

Hi,

Were any children born post 1864? They should have been registered. Have you looked for his birth in the indexes? These are available at the Dublin GRO (in person or Roscommon by post) or on film at your local family history centre. (Church of the latter day saints) http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp for your nearest.
