Hi everybody,

Happy easter to you all.

I've been on this site before, but only Ken D and Frank M seem to remember me.

I came to Haydock April 61 and left for Rheindahlen in November 63. I started my clerical carreer in the Gen Off and ended up with Flt Lt Fleet ? in the families office. I certainly can remember Ken popping in to the Gen Off now and then and many a game of snooker I had with Frank, probably lost most of them too !.

I was only 18 years old the and came to Haydock after my trade training at Kirton in Lindsay. I came from the Orkney Isles and I guess I was pretty niave and shy in those days.

I remember Sgt Carthy from the Gen Off, also a guy called Norman Bolton ?. Pam Smith was a good pal of my wife, Gwen Nicholas.

As I was only 18 when I arrived at Haydock and am now approaching 67, I assume that most contributing to this post may be slightly older ?

Hope everybody has a happy and sunny holiday.

Regards

Jim Monkman

Good Day to all; any more memories of Haydock? what about nights down at the Legion? Who can remember the clubs in the local Darts league in which we played?

Hello everyone.

Just popping in to see how you are all getting on.  Hi Jim Monkman, I remember you.

Also remember Flr.Lt Fleet.

I found another photo.  I am on the right, anyone remember the girl on the left?

Why I didn't put names on the reverse I don't know!
