Hi Frank!
Then you were at Haydock when Jan and I were though I don't remember you. Where was the SWO's office - across from HQ, by the slag heap? The only person I remember from that side of the parade ground was Cpl Andy (can't remember his last name. He was Police). I worked in Accounting, across the hall from where Jan worked in General Office.
Sorry to hear about your breaking your back. What on earth were you doing on the roof?
Did you ever go to the Thursday night dances? Jan and I were on the committee and sat at the door, taking the money.
You don't, by any chance, remember the name of the WO in charge of the Mess in 64-65, do you? Jan and I adored that man (spoiled us rotten, he did) and his was the one name we couldn't remember. Put your thinking cap on anyway.
I live in Sarasota, Florida now - God's little heaven, boasting the second best beach in the world on Siesta Key. Sctually, it's not sand though, it's pure white quartz and the gulf waters there gets up to 89-90F - like bath water!
I'm coming home late August, probably for the last time, as I have a brother in Australia who's not getting any younger.
Anyway, if you can think of the Mess SWO's name, please let me know, won't you?
Jacqui
