Where have you all gone? On a cushy posting and keeping it quiet?

Hi I did not serve at Haydock, My old man did. I think the Hotel you are looking for was the Huntsman.
It is still there but I believe its just a pub now.

Good Day Dave; I also knew your Dad, not as well as Frank, but he was there in my early days. I arrived in Aug '62. The Huntsman is still there; but that is up at Clipsley Lane; that busy corner is now by-passed as they have built a new road from the East Lancs x roads (A58) directly down to the Ship Inn at Blackbrook; the Hunstman seems a quiet spot now.

The hotel I meant was in the centre of St Helens; someone will remember! (I do!)

You must be on about the Fleece. My mother still lives in St Helens as do two of my sisters, I go back now and again ( not as often as I should do ) I remember playing snooker in the airmens mess most nights, but I had nothing to do with the personnel. I remember frank Migy and one or two others, but I was only a 15 year oldat the time. I served in Aden with my old man before I was casevaced out in 1967,
. wish I hadn't written that I feel OLD now.

The above picture reflects the progression of age to the 3 stoogies; who met up agin in 2011: all of whom appear earlier in these pages as young Corporal's who served at RAF Haydock.
