Duh!!!!

That is who I thought it was but somehow, I got the wrong end of the stick.

Anyone recognise the girl next to him in the floral dress?

I seem to recall it was just a lady friend of Tony Casey's. Not someone who is inprinted in my memory!

Hi Lynn:
Well, if you sat in the corner with the counter and door to your right and I sat at the other end, facing the corridor wall, then Tony Casey must have had his desk between us. The two WRAFs you mentioned weren't there when I arrived in February '64.  There was just you, Tony and I as Clerks. I seem to remember we got a local WRAF after you left but, if memory serves me right, Tony was still at Haydock when I left in late '65.

You r correct; I was the otherside of the wall. We did get another local service WRAF - lived down the East Lancs; came to work (always late) in heavy driving gloves and often brought her dog. Seem to remember she was as dishevelled as the dog!

Hope you're getting those pics uploaded alright, Ken.  <grin>

Hey, was that local WRAF you mentioned from somewhere near Ashton in Makersfield or another hyphenated name like that? I seem to remember the one that replaced Lynn had ash blondish hair and wasn't going to stay very long as she was getting married.

Oh my gosh, your memory is unbelievable, Ken!!  It WAS Celia wasn't it? I'd been trying to think of her name for ages  - and you remembered her full name!  How on earth did you remember all that? <grin>

OK, send your pictures to me and I'll download them to the site - though I have problems keeping them to a discreet size.

Hi everyone,
I have been enjoying reading about your lives at RAF Haydock.
I worked with Lynne and Kathleen in the accounts, and became friendly with Swoman (he is now related) and have received e mails from Geordielad along with some photographs.
The photo you put on Lynne I cannot remember being taken and the people on the others are not recognisable.  I put this down to my age or a convenient memory.  It was lovely to see Flt Lft Jones and Sgt Sperandeo.
My name was Barbara Best, and I came out of the RAF in January 1964, and got married to Franks brother in law in June 1964, so we have always kept in touch with one another. I was widowed in 1978 and remarried in 1989.

I can just remember Flt Lt Jones; he moved on as I arrived. I bumped into Fred Sperandeo later in life; By then I was a Flt Lt at MOD and Fred had made Sqn Ldr. He retrired from the RAF about the same time as me  - in 1986 - He had re-married. He retired to Harrogate where I last met him around 87/88.

Merry Xmas to all.
