Lippett Twyning
« on: Thursday 06 October 05 09:52 BST (UK) »
This is my first posting, hope it makes sense!   I am told that a relative John Lippett was born in Twyning Gloucestershire in 1849 and that the source for this information was the 1881 birth census. Can anyone confirm this information for me by looking up either this census or birth records for 1849?

Hello Master,

Joseph Lippett, father of your John, as shown by Catherine in the 1861 Census, came from Strensham in Worcestershire. His Father and Mother were Joseph Lippett (born1762) and Anne Showell (born 1766). Joseph and Anne had 8 daughters and 4 sons, at least one died young as there was another Joseph born in about 1790.

One of the other sons, James, is one of my ggg grandfathers. He and his family went from Strensham to Bretforton Worcester.

Your Joseph was christened on 2/7/1809.

I'm sure there must be some connection to other Lippetts in Hanley Castle and Upton-upon-Severn, but not really looked at this.

I have been unable to find anything else about Joseph and Anne, but Joseph probably had a brother in Strensham as there was one other family there at the same time headed by Thomas Lippett.

Hope this is of interest

Simon
