Hi Debi,
My Aldous' don't go as far back as yours. I start with a John Aldous, born Stradbroke C1832 who married Alice Selina somebody.  They had ten children that I know of who were all born at Denham and Heveningham. The daughter of one of them, Charles John, born Heveningham 22 May 1866 married into my Goose family. Does any of this tie up with you?
Best wishes,
Ron.

Hi Ron, I think I might have contributed to one of your threads some time back and the name ALDOUS stuck in my memory so when I saw this today at Essex Record office ref:

Bradfield D/P 173/1/3 fiche 1 of 2
18 Jan 1742 ALDOUS John of Stradbrook, Suffolk married SANDS Margaret widow of Bradfield by Banns

I thought I'd take time out to let you know in case it helps... :)

........and when I continued looking through the registers for Bradfield, Essex (Essex RO ref: D/P 173/1/3 fiche 1 of 2)
I saw these children baptised for John and Margaret ALDOUS
7 Oct 1744 Richard
8 Feb 1747 Margaret
9 April 1749 Sarah
10 Nov 1751 William
20 Jan 1755 Abraham
23 Apr 1758 James.

After all that I switched to do another one of my jobs at Romford, Saint Edwards (D/P 346/1/3 fiche 3 of 7) and saw 2 baptisms there
30 Aug 1807 Caroline dau of John and Elizabeth ALDOWS
Oct 13 1803 John son of John  and Elizabeth ALDOUS
I then had a quick look at the Essex Marriage register (a very good transcript) and that included the marriage on July 13 1800 of John ALDOUS and Elizabeth LILLY in Romford.
I'd better stop there... cluttering up Suffolk with Essex :P tsk tsk
