Im looking for any information on the Murtagh families who lived at the townland of Larkinstown during the 1850's. Im also trying to find out if there are estate records for this townland.

Hi larkinstown,

If you're about and have a look at this message I spotted a message on RootsWeb in November 2004. murtaghs in larkinstown and loughanstown 1800's There's no listing for a Murtagh in Larkinstown in Griffiths Valuation but there's one in Loughanstown ... The Westmeath Valuation took place in 1854.

Thomas Murtagh, Loughanstown, Portnashangan. Westmeath

Hi Christopher

Thanks for replying but that message was also posted by me!
There were murtaghs living in larkinstown or very near by at the time of Griffith's, as an Edward mahon was a relative and he's on the Griffith's- maybe they lived with him or sub letted?
Im looking for a thomas  (1800ish) but ive since discounted the loughanstown one.

Hiya Wayne,

When people change their user names from site to site things can get somewhat confusing. In many cases they can find a link to their message on another site posted to them in a message from someone trying to be helpful.
