Hi Debbie, So this means that Tommy's Daughter(my  Aunt Cissie) and your mother Margaret Coyle would be cousin's!  therefore; My Cousin Jim (son of Aunt Cissie) and yourself are 2nd cousins! Hopefully Jim will be registering here soon; I know he's been thinking about it;  Margaret Sarah xx

that's right Margaret - Jim and I are 2nd cousins.  Jim and Helen on the other hand, are 1st cousins

This is starting to get confusing, but by my reckoning it is actually your Aunt Cissie who is my cousin isn't it?   
Her father, Tommy Stewart, was my uncle, - my mothers brother.

No Margaret Sarah, thank you!  Without your input we wouldn't have the info we now have on Uncle Tommy.
Some time ago I actually bought his marriage cert on Scotlandspeople and put it aside because it had the 'wrong' bride

Ha, Ha, Its amazing the things we do to find out what our ancester got up to eh!

Anyway Helen I'm going to take a trip to Dunbartin, Kilpatrick and areas for wee while and see if I can find out more about grannies side (Sarah Meechan) and the O'Neils from that area Rose O'Neil was her Mother her Father was Terence Meechan I beleive from the Irish end.  I'll be back though as I would like to find more about Tommy's sons/families et.  TC.
