Hi,
I have ancestors born in Old Kilpatrick called Cairney / Carney.
They were:
Hugh b. 1833
Jean Hamilton Cairney b.1835

Their parents were Hugh Carney and Elizabeth Hamilton.

Are they in anyway related to the Cairneys being discussed?

Hi there,
I was just wondering if anyone knew the Hosie's from Duntocher? Perhaps my Gran and Granded David Hosie and Jane or Jeanie Hosie nee Lawless? It would be great to hear from anyone who knew any of them. They stayed in Dalgliesh Avenue and my uncle still lives there. My dad, Dennis Hosie lived there his whole life also. I think my grans side, Lawless stayed in Duntocher their whole lives. Any information anyone could give me would be much appreciated :)

Lawless, Duntocher/Govan

Hello my name is Caroline.  I am looking for a photo from around 1949 ish. My mum Mary Cleland and my dad William Divers are in the class photo from St Marys. The teacher was Miss Ryan.  If anyone can help that would be great.  My mum also has lots of photos from my great aunt Agnes Morgan.  Mum seems to know who is who so if anyone has any question I can ask.

Hi Debbie,  is you granmother; "Maggie Stewart" also Known as Gretta Coyle? and is Gretta (number vii child of Flora and William Stewart) the Brother of Thomas Stewart? I've managed to contact my Cousin Jim, Jim is the son of Aunt Cissie (1st daughter of Thomas Stewart) Cissie is on the left while Sadie 2nd Daughter is on the right).  Both now deceased.  He said it was OK to post this photo on the sight; hopefully there are cousins out there somewhere. (Children of Thomas Stewart & Cissie Sweeney) Any news about the Stewarts will be very welcome.

Hi Margaret
Yes, my grandmother was Maggie Stewart - sister of Tommy.

But my Mother was Gretta Coyle the first daughter of Maggie Stewart.  Gretta went by Coyle when she was growing up, as Maggie married Charlie Coyle whe she was 2.  But He was not her natural father, so most of her documents show Stewart as her legal last name.  That's where the confusion steps in  :)
