Hi myyran

The Julia Cairney you referred to is my husbands grandmother. She was married to John Cairney and they had nine boys and one girl, three of the boys and their families live in Dalgleish Ave. Charlie Cairney was one of her sons and is my father-in-law.  I am trying to find out about Julia's mother and father (Annie Mclaughlin and Peter Gallagher) and also John Cairney's mother and father, who i have no information on.  If you can help it would be great.  These Cairneys are such a large family and widespread!!   By the way the lady from the sweetie shop was my father-in-laws auntie Agnes.

Hope to hear from you with more info.

Hi Tico,

I am certainly able to help you with the Cairney side of things as well as the Gallagher side. Peter Gallagher was my Great Grandfather and I have a lifetime's worth of info and stories. I am sure that I can assist. I am currently working hard on even more Gallagher research which is starting to throw up some very interesting facts. Agnes (the sweetie lady) was my Grandmother.
I would also like to hear from anyone else who is interested in the Gallagher family from Duntocher - the more the merrier.
