Yes, Jean is my cousin. I knew Frank very well when I was a teenager but we lost touch when I left Scotland in 1969. He was a great guy who helped me a lot.

Hi Billy,

I remember who you are now.

Yes Dad was agreat guy, had his faults like all of us but on the whole he was great. Thank you for that.

He passed away Dec 08, sadly. Still miss him every day but we had a few good years to get to know ech other and my kids adored him too.

How are you and your family?

Marie

I'd just like to wish all our 'Duntocher families'  a safe & happy New Year, and successful researching in 2010.

I I wondered if anybody has any information on the Dochertys of Duntocher.  My husbands grandfather was Albert James Dockery born in Duntocher 1901 and married Ann Hamilton in 1919 St Patricks Church.  His father was Patrick Dockery from Ireland who married Sarah Judge and died in New Street, Duntocher in 1915.  They lived in New Street, Duntocher. Thanks

Hi Catkin19
Just stumbled onto this website....Its probably a wee bit late in the day...me getting in touch with you,as by now I'm sure someone has given you all the info you have been asking for.
I would take a guess and say you were either Katie or Molly's daughter or maybe Patricia from New Zealand. My mother and I looked after Auntie Mary who my mother looked on as her other Mother.
We looked after Auntie Aggie as well  but she had Uncle Joe and they got along just fine.Your Grandmother was as you know widowed young,so we spent more time with her.I have photo's of Auntie Aggie and Your Grandmother when they were both young girls, they were both beautiful ladies.
Let me know if you would like me to tell all that I can remember..it was so long ago,but to me it was such a lovely time for my Mother and I.

hi, my grandmother Sara Meechan Stewart was married to Thomas Stewart (son of William and Flora) in 1913. I've been doing research on Thomas, I know he was in the Scottish Rifles in 1916, but that's as far as I can get!  ???I would be grateful for any information any one can offer. :) thanks

Hi Margaret Sarah,
I'm a little confused ... do you have any proof that your Thomas was the son of William & Flora Stewart?  Because Thomas son of William & Flora was my Uncle Tommy, and he was married to Cissy (or Sissy) Sweeney.  Thomas was the 4th of 14 children (my mother was the 13th).  I'm so intrigued by your posting I can hardly wait for your reply.   ???

An afterthought - could Sara be Sissy?  Also, was it your Mother or your Father who was a Stewart?  I only have 3 sons for Thomas - Barney, Hugh & John.  That's not to say he didn't have more, but they are the only ones that I'm aware of.  And finally - do you have any photos of Thomas?  I do, perhaps we could compair?
