Hi Helen,

I looked my Thomas McMunigle( McMunigall) up and all i know about him is that he was born on the 05/05/1875 in Partick at 11 walker st and he married a Mary-anne Dowall born about 1876  but i cant find the documents to prove this maybe i got it from Jacquie ( James McMunigle's ) gg granddaughter. Jacquie will send me more info and when she does i"ll let you know. Oh and the McMunigal's came from Donegal

That's it!  We (you, Deb, me) are related on two fronts now.   
It was Susan McMunigle Murrays brother Thomas who was the father of Elizabeth McMunigle Stewart.

Hi Helen,

So how is Elizabeth McMunigle  married Ninian Stewart and that means my great grand Arthur was your great Gran's brother but also my great gran Susan was hows side of the family? I'm getting confused but Jacquie will be glad to hear this, she is in Canada so does that mean that we are cousins from both sides off the family if so thats amazing. Do you mind if i give you e-mail address out to some of the McMunigle's i have in my tree

Hi Roseann,
Okay, I might make a mess of this, but here goes .....
Arthur Scott Murray was my Granny's brother.   He married Susan McMunigle d/o Hugh McMunigle & Maryann Donachy.  Granny (Flora McLure McIntyre Murray) married William Stewart.  Their son, Ninian Stewart married Elizabeth McMunigle, d/o Thomas McMunigle & MaryAnn McDowall.  And Thomas was the brother of Susan McMunigle.  I hope I've made that clear enough to follow?

Well done on the detective work there Helen!!
I had to get all my McMunigles in a row there before I could see exactly how the relationships were sorting out.

OK.... we are related to Roseann on 2 fronts for sure.

I am suspicious that we are related on two MORE fronts as well.
I would love to find out who the parents of Mary Ann McDowall or Dowall were. 

Our Thomas Stewart was married to Mary Dowall abt 1836 Ireland (probably Donegal)
Thomas died and Mary Dowall remarried William Morrow - it is through their children that we tie in to all the Gallacher's in Duntocher.

And - Thomas & Susan McMunigle's other brother - John McMunigle married a gal by the name of Bridget CARR.
I have Carr's related through the Coyles in Duntocher as well.

I'm getting a little confused here ..... James & Elizabeth were BORN in the 1860's & their son Arthur MARRIED in 1887?   That just doesn't add up.
On second thoughts, I mustn't be reading your postings right, because Arthur (according to Census in earlier postings) was also born in the 1860's.  Are we looking for 2 separate families?  Or has my brain just gone A.W.O.L.
