Heres an update of the latest of our research of the |Morgans.
We now know that Marjies grandfather was shot on sept 9th at Duntocher canal as he left work at the ordnace factory Dalmuir.
His murderer was a Patrick Mcteague who lived in Duntocher road. He only got 7 years as he pleaded mental ilness due to being gassed in the war.
we have gone further back to patricks parents Arthur and Mary Morgan who wed in 1887. Marys parents were Hugh and Elizabeth Smith.(nee Moore)
Arthurs Parents were James and Elizabeth Morgan(nee Mochan)
Debbie this could be a connection of yours.
I look out of my window onto Auchentoshan avenue. I can post any pictures you would like. Jo x

I will ask my Mum about the shooting she was only a little girl but something as sensational as that may have been talked about.
Duntocher Road starts from Dalmuir all the way to Parkhall.

There have been a fair few shootings in around the Canals-at least another two I can think off-one a cuckolded husband who shot both parties.-maybe the fifties?? Then off course the more recent-1970's Torrance case.(no relation)

Jo, I forgot to get back to you re: Auchentoshan Ave., - a photo of "ma Granny's hoose" would be great if you can take one please?  She lived at number 22, I have a photocopy of a photo, but I'd love to see it as it is today.  I remember playing there with my cousins when I was a little girl - and it's been many years since I was a little girl!   :(

Catherine married twice.  1st to James Campbell in Duntocher on Oct 28th 1859 and then to Daniel Gill .  She died 28th Feb 1926.
