Did you know that when the Gill family moved to Scotland they were called McGill and they dropped the Mc

The Gill family must have made the move to Scotland between the birth of their youngest son born 1845 and the 1851 census.
I have the death certificates for Patrick and Mary.
They had six boys.

I had seen some records on ancestry which showed McGill and I wasn't sure if it was the right family. I didn't realised they dropped the Mc when they moved to Scotland.
