No worries pipeyson, I was a bit concerned that I was looking like a serial pest.
If I've been of any help I'm glad.  Best of luck with your researching.

Hi - it's ages since I looked at the site and I would like to comment on the photograph outside Filshies. The photo is not one of the Stewart Brothers.  The only Stewart in the photograph is Uncle Tommy.  I don't know the names of the others but they are definitely not Stewart's.  My father was James Stewart and I knew most of his brothers (my uncles). I can't say that I recognise the others in the picture. The real name of Filshies was the West End Bar and as far as I know it is still called that.

Hi HelenCumbernauld   :D
It's been a long time.  The men in the Filshies photo ARE Stewart men, just not OUR Stewart men.
They are the sons of Richard Stewart, brother of our grandfather William Stewart.
In other words, Tommy is standing with his cousins, cousin  ;D

Hi cousin Helen - thanks for clearing that up - I always think of my James Stewart.  I take it that our Grandfather's brother came over to Duntocher as well.  I must have loads of 2nd cousins that I don't know about and I was born and brought up in Duntocher. The James Stewart that was Richard's son was born in 1902 (7 years before my James Stewart) but I don't remember ever meeting him.

Hi Helen,
Yes, Richard Stewart (our grandfathers brother) had 9 (known) children, and many of them were
of an age similar to our Stewarts, so in all probability grew up close to each other.
William & Richard and their famillies all lived in Chapel Road during the 1901 Census.

Hi Iona, welcome to the forum.  James Stewart was my Uncle - my mothers brother.  And as you no doubt know, his daughter Helen & I have been chatting for some time.
