Prisoners of War
« on: Monday 16 August 04 19:50 BST (UK) »
Hello all, can anybody reccommend a source for looking up a prisoner of war's details - my Grandfather? I have a name, rank and a Stalag Nº (although this may be a little muddled)
Signalman Frederick Arthur Bundy - POW Nº4111 - Stalag 306 (XVIIIB)
The address I have is Germany although I suspect it's actually Austria.

Plus, what's the best way to discover the history of an address in England?

Thanks if you can help.

Gary,

What is the address you have, I should be able to confirm where it is.

The Land Registery Office is a good place to find history on a property, they do have a web site but the URL escapes me at the moment (expect someone will know it and post  ;) ) If my memory serves me correctly you have to pay a small fee for sight of records.

I know my Grandmother was living at 152, Woolfall Crescent in Huyton, Liverpool before and during the WWII. I was just hoping to find out if any of the Chiocchis (She was Alice Jnr) still lived there.

There is a new database online of POW's. It was put together by the nice people on the Long, Long Trail website. The address is

Hi There

I can't assist with POWs but I've just discovered that I have CHIOCCHI ancestors in Liverpool. My line stems from Catherine Frances CHIOCCHI aka CHALKEY born 1887 in West Derby to Robert CHIOCCHI & Mary MOUSDALE / MOSEDALE. Interested?
