I am researching the venstone family but think that the name changed from vanstone to venstone in about 1868. My husband's great grandfather was born in somerset and I believe that at that time tiverton came under somerset.  His name was william james vanstone or venstone and he was born around 1839. He later moved to London and was married to a Sarah Smith. Until I can establish whether Williiam James Vanstone (possible born in Chard) became William James Venstone I'm at a standstill

My ancestors are the Vanstones of Tiverton.  My gggrandfather wa born in Tiverton (Daniel b 1796), but moved to Sherbourne some time before 1842, to work in the silk mill.

Hello,

Does anyone have details of H W Vanstone, who served with the Somerset Light Infantry in WW1?

Thankyou
