Killinchy Presbyterian Church - baptismal
« on: Friday 30 September 05 13:45 BST (UK) »
A few questions about Killinchy.  As I have never been to that area, just wondering how far it is from Gilnahirk.  I have hired the UHS to do research but was not able to find any baptismal records for the Fairfields.  We now think they were baptized at the Killinchy Presbyterian Church.  Is there a way to find out?  I am looking for William Fairfield 1890 and the rest of his 11 brothers and sisters, but most importantly, William.  Important to know his middle name.  Either David or James....
HELP??

If you've not found the information you have been searching for I'll see if I can find out anything the 1st week in November ( our 1/2 term here )

Hi Gary! I am trying to track down my great grandfather - David Fairfield - who was a blacksmith at Gilnahirk so found your enquiry re: Fairfield and Gilnahirk very interesting.  We might be looking for the same family connection??

Good chance your related to my wife Henry.  Her grandfather was William and her great grandfather was David from Gilnahirk, his father was James and is buried in Movilla in Belfast.  Have lots of info for you.

Very interesting RedCoat. My grandfather was Robert Fairfield brother of William.
Their father David Fairfield was living at Cherrvale Cottages Gilnahirk in 1902.  James I had not come across - fascinating - Movilla is a very ancient graveyard at Movilla Abbey in Newtownards County Down. Henry

It is very interesting.  The grave of your g/grandfather is not marked either.  I have the location and I think I also have a photograph of where it is.
I have a gen file with quite a bit of info including David's birth cert and marriage cert.  Feel free to contact me via email and I will send you what I have.  We were there in 2010 and will be back in 2014.  Thanks for keeping in touch Henry.  By the way, I believe there is a Henry Fairfield buried at church Castlereigh.  That would be your Dad's brother.  I have photo of that if you like.
