
If we decide to meet in the Cathedral Triangle, here is a map showing what the area looked like in 1650.
Market Street comes down from the left onto Deansgate. To the left of Salford Bridge, where it crosses the River Irwell, is the Collegiate Church of Christ
(later Manchester Cathedral) and next to that is Chetham's School. The surrounding streets of Long Millgate, Hanging Ditch, Withy Grove, Fennel Street and Cateaton Street, are still there today.
On the Salford side you can see Sergeant Street
(later Chapel Street) and standing on that, is the brand new church of Sacred Trinity.
