pentonville prison

Does anyone have any idea where I might find records of inmates for Pentonville in the 1850's?
I have a stray whom I am sure is part of the family somewhere and he disappears after the 1881 census in Pentonville. He does not appear to have been transported! Many thanks Yvonne

The National Archives at Kew holds prisoners' registers for Pentonville 1842-1885 reference PCOM 2/61-83 including prisoners photographs 1875-1885. Transportation finished in 1868.
