Cairns
« on: Monday 26 September 05 10:52 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone,

I am trying to find information on Mary Cairns born approx 1828 in the area of Fermanagh. She was tried in Edinburgh and transported to Tasmania as a convict in approx 1851.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks
Belinda

Hi Christopher,

According to her convict record she was Roman Catholic.

Thanks

Hi Belinda,

There was only one Cairns listed in the Griffiths Valuation extracts for Co. Fermanagh 1862 which are on John Hayes failteromhat.com website. You'll probably have to look at church records as Civil Registration of BDMs had not been introduced at the time Mary was born.

James Cairns, Mullynaburtlan, Aghalurcher
