Little Crosby St. Mary's 1800
« on: Sunday 25 September 05 17:53 BST (UK) »
Wonder if someone can help?
I have a number of births from the register of St. Mary's parish in Little Crosby starting in 1802. I am trying to get the marriage for the parents, but the church was built in 1801 and I am at a loss as to where they would have gone for the marriage ceremony.

Hi Brian

First of all what were the names of the parents? - maybe they didnt get married at this church or maybe the previous church burnt to the ground! - who knows! Give us more info - names of the children, DOB's and names of parents and I'm sure more Rootschaters will be able to give you help and advise you with this info. ;).

Cheers
Jan

Hi Again Brian

R U Any relation to the Arnolds of Golborne, Warrington, Cheshire - if so we may have a distant connection through the Young and Richardson families - Ring any bells?

Cheers

Hi Jan,
Thanks for the info.
Will post names of children and dates of birth and parents names when I get a minute to sort them out.
Don't think I am related to any of the Arnold's you mention.

Hi Annie,
Thank you for the web site. I found this about 4 months ago and managed to get all the children's baptisms from it, but it only goes back to 1800 as the church was built then.
What a wonderful site it is and all constructed and research by a 15 year old.

Hi Jan.
Details of the Arnold's in Great Crosby.
Parents of children are John and Ann Arnold
Children born to them are
James 1802
Joseph 1804
Mary 1806
John 1808
Richard 1811 ( My line )
Henry 1813

I have a death for a John Arnold of 28th July 1820 at aged 68. Have no idea if he is the original John

Hope someone out there can find John and Ann's marriage.

Have you thought of the possiblity of John to Ann Jackson 1795 at Formby -IGI although I haven't found any earlier children  [as yet].

Hi Dotty,
Must admit I had never come across John and Ann Jackson. Seems as though they could be in the frame for this family. Will try to follow up on what you have given me.
Many thanks
Brian
