Hi,
Crosby is just north of Liverpool, Wirral is across the Mersey from Liverpool, Lambeth is Westminster London, unless anyone knows of another one near Liverpool.

Your best bet would be to find a map. There are plenty of them online. Distances will look small to an Australian, but travel from Lancashire to London could take a couple of days if you're talking about pre-railway days.
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

The distance between Wirral and liverpool is about 7 miles. Wirral is in Cheshire, Liverpool in Lancashire. Lambeth is 180 miles away.
For distances between parishes, there is a nifty little program called parloc. You can download it at

Have a look at the county map of Genuki - very handy.

For today's maps I find
www.multimap.com
very handy.
