Please can any one here who knows "East Ward" tell me if
Brackenthwaite is a name of a hamlet or a house

In the census it says address: Brackenthwaite and as town/village/hamlet: Murton
I found a Brackenthwaite but it's in "West Ward" and I'm very positive that Murton is "East Ward" so my thought it was a name of a house or even a road.
It's the same with Bongate, Bankend ...... what are they?
Can't find them on old maps of Westmorland.
