The person obviously couldn't spell (potatoe)!!

So how about "buroker" as in an attempt to write "broker........?

With "coffee" scribbled on top?

Hey UK Girl, you might be onto somethign there..."Coffee" is definitely in a different hand isn't it.  So once you take out "Coffee" it could be "broker".

Just had another look though - if the 3rd letter is "r" then it's written differently from the other "r"s on the page.

Mobo - have you found this person on any other census?  Which census is this entry from?
