We old 'ens aren't as quick to understand all the technical terms :'( I thought you had to have a web site to use web mail!

To use a web based mail account you simply log in to that suppliers site with your internet browser (much as you do with Rootschat) and you can then view your emails.

Gmail (Google Mail) can also be set up to be transferred (or collected) by email programs such as Outlook,Outlook express, Thunderbird etc etc.

I started with gmail about 3 months ago   ands I think it's great... I still use my hotmail account but not often ....  It's easy to use. no spam at all so far and you dont have to delete anything ...ooodles of storage space Meldrew ... and a great filing system that links your conversations together in more than one file if necessary... ie  you can cross reference easily .. I think it's great and I used up all my invitations within a week !!
