Hello all,
I am at a loss with the above family member and hoping for help please.
Emma MILLS, b. approx. 1844 in Tydee(?), Monmouthshire, daughter of William MILLS and Ann ROBERTS, and she appears with them in the census in 1851 and 1861, the latter in Aberystruth, schedule no. 188.
Another tree online shows her as marrying William MARTIN (1842 - 1871) in 1865; and then marrying William Evans DAVIS (1819 - 1893) in Newport, 1873.
The same tree suggests Emma's death in Newport in 1916.
Unfortunately, the tree does not have sources for any of its information.
Ann and William appear in the 1871 census with their grand-daughter, Sophia MARTIN, which supports the above, but Emma is not with them.
I can see an Emma DAVIS on Find a Grave, who died in 1916 aged about 72 (St Woolos Churchyard), but I don't have the evidence to prove that she is my Emma.
Can anyone help please? I haven't done a lot of Welsh research and would be grateful for the assistance and searching suggestions.
With thanks
M.
