Back to my list of candidates: the one person on that list who had the credentials to be a "Professor", in proper context, would have been the Rev. Wm. Bingley of St. George Bloomsbury who was also a noted author. But in 1818 he was already married and had a son named William Richard Bingley. IF the entry above was the good Reverend then "Rev." would have been recorded and I would think it would have been a major scandal at the time. Thus, I highly doubt that he was the father of Amelia.
The Wm. Bingley who was buried in 1831 in Southwark but place of abode was Bethnal Green eludes me in finding any more information about him. Why was he buried in a different parish, south of the Thames?
