Sadly, although John's birth appears on FreeBMD as below, on the original image the surname has faded which is presumably why I can't see it on the GRO Birth Index

I would like to thank everyone who has participated here and found my Great Grandmother's name (Adeline or Adelina Croasdale).  You have also found the names of 4 of their 13 children who were still at home at the time of the 1921 Census.

I can add another one to that: Emma Elizabeth Croasdale born 29th November 1901 although I am not sure where.  She had left home to marry my Grandfather before the census of 1921. She was my Grandmother and all of the others you found were known to me when I was a child.  So, its 5 down and 8 to go!  I can't give up now!

Amazingly, Ivy's daughter has a photograph of Adeline and has promised me a copy of it.  She didn't know the lady's name but she knew it was her Grandmother.  Like me, she wasn't born until years after Adeline's death and had no personal memories of her.

Once again, thank you all

Neville

Neville - on the 1911 census there are;

William aged 36
Adelina aged 34
Emma aged 9 --- born Browney? Durham
Ernest aged 7 born Blackhouse? Durham
'Elcie' aged 2 born Craghead, Durham

This census also tells us that Willliam and Adelina had been married for 14 years. They had had 6 children born alive, but 3 had sadly died.

A free website for Lancashire Parish records may be useful for your Lancashire ancestors. Not every record is on of course but William's marriage is there; (I know you have already been given the info - but just letting you know about the website)

https://www.lan-opc.org.uk/

Marriage: 5 Sep 1896 Holy Trinity, Habergham Eaves, Lancashire
William Henry Croasdale - 22, Beer Bottler, Bachelor, Glen Street
Adeline Bullen - 19, Spinner, Spinster, Burdett Street
    Groom's Father: John Croasdale, Labourer
    Bride's Father: Ambrose Bullen, Miner
Witnesses: James Henry Bullen; Mary Ann Walmsley
Married by Banns by A. Blackburn
    Register: Marriages 1893 - 1897, Page 201, Entry 401

There are records for Burnley Cemetery also.

I will just see if I can find burials for any children born after the marriage in Burnley - who died in Burnley.
