Loseby (with a Higgins marriage connection)
« on: Monday 22 June 26 14:38 BST (UK) »
Looking for any records of a MR LOSEBY (apologies don't have first name), married a Mary/Elizabeth Higgins (b. abt 1891)  from Kells County Meath Ireland,  some time between 1910 and 1920. Mr Loseby was most likely born in UK 1880 - 1890 and, according to family lore, most likely a military person. He was possibly killed in WW1, as Mary/Elizabeth Higgins/Loseby is listed as Widow in Ireland 1926 Census. They are not listed in Ireland Census 1911 which leads me to believe they had married  and were resident in UK. I have Mary/Elizabeth Higgins' records, desperately looking to identify her husband Mr Loseby.

Nothing showing in UK

There's a tree on Ancestry
Mary (Cissy) Higgins b c 1890. Kells Meath. Father Peter, mother Bridget Rourke.
1901 in  Ireland Maudlin Street Kells.
Her death is given as 1953, but no mention of a marriage or  another name at death which has no more details
Could this be her.

Thanks to all above for very prompt replies, really appreciated.

And to confirm some of above replies

Mary [Elizabeth] Loseby (nee Higgins)  died in Dublin in 1952, death recorded as Mary Loseby.
She was listed as Elizabeth Loseby (see attached) in 1926 Ireland census as Widow age 35.
So her husband MR LOSEBY would have died between 1908 (likelest marriage date) and 1926 (year of census).
