I play CDs - The Shadows, The Searchers,Roy Orbison, The Dubliners .Haughton Weavers ,Beatles, interspersed with orchestral music.Music of The Andes, Ravi and Ananda Shankar , Trad Jazz played by Manchester City Saints,Chris Barber. Some Country  and Western music too.
I also like Brass Band music.
I have Classic F,M.on a lot too.
We had a good music teacher at school and she explained pieces of classical music, who composed  it , their life stories ,who commissioned pieces etc .
We used to go with school to Manchester’s Free Trade Hall, to The  Halle
Orchestra’s rehearsals.
We all had a crush on Maurice Handforth ,the French Horn player. He put a little extra flourish in The National Anthem, sixth line , so you could always tell it was the Halle playing .

Oh happy days.
It is only 78 years ago .

Well kitchen tidied so a nice cuppa.

Cheerio. Viktoria.

I think you would have been just outside the 24 hour period to modify your own post anyway LM, I'm with others in agreeing you do well to set up a thread each week. I do seem to be forever modifying what I'm typing lately when I look up and see errors and then having to quickly reword something after posting as well and no doubt miss a few! I bought a cordless mouse after hand injury and it helped a bit, perhaps also need a keyboard update.

Sounds lovely 'Caroline from the Danube'  :D ... and best laid plans indeed Jeff, kept you occupied too for some time to find that 'something missing' as is the case when we're looking for anything we know is somewhere!

Enjoy sitting comfortably each or with gentle activity listening to the music in your heatwave. Better than expected out and about yesterday and today with friends with less rain and more sunshine than forecast and clearing up again for the weekend.  All the best ...
