MyHeritage testing
« on: Thursday 19 March 26 23:25 GMT (UK) »
I recently did a Ancestry DNA, but I'm wondering whether to do a MyHeritage test since the whole genome sequencing.

Just wondering since this update has anyone seen any better results such as CM readings with previous testing and does it limit how many connections you receive?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'better results such as CM readings'. The MH database is around 1/3 the size of Ancestry and falls further behind every day as they sell less kits.

In most cases cM figures on MH will be higher than Ancestry but the testing methods have always been different so it's not a like for like comparison and it's not a linear or predictable change.

I match A at 319 on Ancestry & 321 on MH,  his son is 260 on Ancestry & 292* on MH, my half sib is 1782 on Ancestry & over 2000 on MH (which predicts us as full sibs not half). Match B is 180 on Ancestry and 280 on MH. A and B share 136 on Ancestry and 195* on MH. The relationships are backed up by paper trails and other matches though the 292 and 195 figures on MH are above the range for the proven relationships based on DNAPainter.com data
