1911 Census Lookup

Hi,

I would like to find someone on the 1911 Census please.

I am looking for Frederick Watson, a boilermaker and rivetter of Durham. He was born on the 31st July 1866 in Broomside, Durham, the son of Joseph Watson and Jane Lawther.

He married Eleanor Blenkinsopp nee Rodenby on the 16th March 1901 at St Cuthbert, Blyth, Northumberland.

In the 1901 Census, he is living at 5 Back Percy Street, Blyth, Northumberland, with Eleanor and his step children.

Around (1910 (approx.)), he left the family and moved to Hull. In 1919, he married Annie Maria Dawson (1882-1955). In the 1921 Census, he is living with Annie at 126 Waterhouse Lane, Hull. He died in 1947 in Hull.

I am having trouble finding him on the 1911 Census. I know that by 1910, he had left Eleanor (he is not present on the 1911 Census with her and her children.) Would anybody be able to help me out here?

P.S. His birth area has been transcribed as numerous different things. He was born in Broomside, Durham, but it has been transcribed as "Burnside" and "Bumrike" before.

Yes, I was having lots of trouble finding Frederick at all (past 1901), and as RootsChat was down, I decided to try and post a question on another genealogy forum to see what I could find there in regards to where he died etc. etc.

Do excuse my dedication to this matter, I understand that it may be quite troublesome and tiring for some.

There is a Frederick Watson, age 44, Boiler maker plater, married, but no wife present in South Shields, Durham, in 1911 census. He is listed as Head of household. Housekeeper Mary Burns, age 49, widowed. You may have already found this one. Fits in some respects but not him as He and his housekeeper are in the 1901 Census. Ray

Yes, unfortunately this Frederick isn't him (like you said.) This Frederick with Mary Burns was the son of Charles Watson and Jane Johnson, whereas my Frederick was the son of Joseph Watson and Jane Lawther.

He died in 1947 in Hull.

Have you got the burials? Buried at different cemeteries

Thought it was strange!
Those two deaths given on the other forum don't seem to belong together.
Frederick Watson buried in 1947 at the Northern Cemetery, in a private grave, purchased in perpetuity.
Compartment 357 Grave 77
I don't think we can see the graves register for that on FS.

But later in the same year, 29 October 1947, Annie Watson was buried at the Northern Cemetery
Age 63. Died 26 October. Widow..
In compartment 357 Grave 77
Same address as Frederick as well, 5 Lawrence Villas, Wheeler Street

Hi,

Regarding burials-- this is what I know.

Frederick's first wife, Eleanor d. 15th September 1938, Blyth. Buried at Blyth Links Cemetery.

Frederick Watson d. 13th February 1947, Hull, Yorkshire. Buried at Northern Cemetery 17th February 1947.

Have not got Annie's yet, but I think the one you provided sounds convincing.

I have only found them in the 1921 Census thus far, but I was told by somebody that they are present on the 1939 Register but I'll double check anyway.

I guess you could check out the address on those burials to see who was there in the 39 Register.
