As you can probably imagine, it's difficult searching old newspapers for the ship "Italy". There is definitely a reference to Italy with REED as master arriving from Charleston at Liverpool on 20 March 1851.

Whether this is the same ship, I'm not sure. The burthen is quite different. I'm no expert when it comes to ships!

Looking on the Chronicling America website, there are many references to the ship Italy in newspapers. She was "of Bath" (Maine), and seemes to have had a major accident in 1853.
