Many thanks

I don’t know much about the Jewish religion but it could be the The Crypt. . In many Anglican  Cathedrals there are Chapels in the crypt where marriages can take places.

Its a longer word than crypt

I don't have any experience of Jewish records or terminology but possibly congregation?
